Lameck Banda, Zambian international winger looks to continue his impressive form in the Italian Serie A League.
Banda became the first player from Zambia to sign for a Serie A team when he transferred from Israeli club Maccabi Petah Tikva to US Lecce on a four-year contract.
last season, the diminutive winger had a good season having played 36 games and managed to score 2 goals and providing one assist.
Speaking exclusively to Bolanews, Banda spoke about him having settled in very well in the Serie A and looks forward to scoring and providing more assists in the league.
“My goal this season is to play in every game, and now that I’ve adjusted to the league and gained experience, it’s time for me to score more goals and give assists,” Banda stated.
When asked if he could be leaving Italy soon, he ruled out switching as he wants to stick around and learn more in Serie A.
“Last season I did not do enough that’s why I decided that this season I stick around so that I learn and improve of course there are some teams that showed interest, but I decided to stay back, “noted the former Zesco United winger.
Lameck named in Chipolopolo squad.
“I promise to replicate my fine form at the National team as we face Comoros in the Afcon qualifying match, we just have to win that match and not take the game lightly just because we already qualified, “concluded Banda.

Lameck, 22 has played three games and provided two assists, while in the Afcon qualifying matches he has scored two goals in five appearances and helped the Chipolopolo secure a slot at Afcon in Ivory Coast next year.
Banda will want to maintain his excellent form during the current season after being recently recognized among the top dribblers in Europe’s top five leagues.
