Tabitha Chawinga is the fastest player in the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) this season, with an average speed of 31.2 km/h.
She has two goals in three Champions League matches and scored on Wednesday as Paris Saint-Germain-PSG defeated Sewedish side Hacken 2-1 in the first leg of their quarterfinal tie.
Tabitha scored again in the domestic league last night, beating two defenders to the ball and scoring PSG’s third goal in a 1-3 victory over Montpellier.
That was her 15th league goal in 17 games, giving her a three-goal advantage over Lyon’s Ada Stolsmo Hegerberg, who has 12 goals in the Feminine Division 1 race for the Golden Boot.
Chawinga has played 1,261 minutes this season, averaging one goal every 74 minutes. She has 9 league assists.
The Malawian skipper hopes to win the Golden Boot.
“That is my dream to win the golden boot and help my team win the championship,” she said.
Meanwhile, Lyon is still at the top of the Feminine Division 1 with 52 points, while PSG is second with 45 points from the same number of games played.
