Despite a nil-all away draw against Leopards FC in Kabwe on Wednesday, Emmanuel Siwale is confident his side, Zesco United will seal qualification for the 2025 ABSA Cup.
The seven-times, ABSA Cup holders are now placed eight on the league table with 19 points from 14 matches.
The Ndola based side is three points adrift of the seventh position, the cut-off for qualification.
Siwale was disappointed with the goalless draw.
“It’s not a good result. We wanted three points, and that’s what I can say. Regardless of the conditions, we lost two points because the end result is a draw,” Siwale said.
Zega Mambo domination resulted in no goals for Siwale.
“We created a lot of chances, especially in the second half. I wish those chances were goals because we could have scored more than two, but it just wasn’t our day. We didn’t put the ball in the net,” he added.
In the meantime, Siwale is hopeful of ABSA Cup qualification.
“There is no pressure. The league is still on, and there are games to play. If we collect maximum points in the remaining matches, it will take us where we want to be,” he said.
Siwale noted that the team has a busy schedule ahead.
“There is no break. We are playing in Kabwe in the first week, so we just have to prepare for that game,” he said.
