Chelsea have announced the signing of Romeo Lavia from Southampton. The young midfielder has signed a 7 year contract at Stamford Bridge. Skysports has confirmed.
Lavia was highly sort after by both Chelsea and Liverpool last week. The Reds even struck a deal thought to be worth £60m. However, the 19 year old chose to join Chelsea in £53m deal plus £5m in add-ons from Southampton instead.
The transfer means Chelsea’s first-choice midfield this season will likely be comprised of Lavia, Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.
