Arsenal are working on deal to sign Ajax defender Jurrien Timber. Mikel Arteta wants a versatile defender who is good on the ball and can start out at right back then fill in in midfield just as Oleksandr Zinchenko does on the opposite flank. An initial bid of £30m has been rejected but there is confidence a deal can still be struck at closer to £50m.
