Dynamos FC have clinched the Chibuku Super Cup for the third consecutive year after edging Triangle United 1-0 in a tightly contested final played on Saturday at Gibbo Stadium in Triangle.
Second-half substitute Enasio Perezo Jr. proved to be the difference-maker, scoring the decisive goal with just ten minutes left to seal yet another historic triumph for the Harare giants.
Head coach Kelvin Kaindu attributed the victory to divine favor while also commending his squad for their resilience throughout a challenging season.
“I’ve seen the hand of God, and the reason that I came here is because of faith.”
Kaindu noted that the final lacked the usual spark, saying it only took a single moment to separate the two sides.
“Not an easy game looking at the controversy that was surrounding the game before kickoff, but coming to the final, I don’t think it deserved to be called the final. It was a game that didn’t have so many moments.”
He also hailed Perezo’s impact off the bench, revealing that the youngster had impressed him earlier in the season.
“We told ourselves that we started the league by winning the Challenge Cup; let’s finish the league by winning the Chibuku Super Cup.”
The victory caps a stressful campaign for Dynamos, who end the season with both the Challenge Cup and the Chibuku Super Cup but were sweating to keep their Premier League status.
