During the just finished 2023–24 Zambian Super League Season, Mutondo Stars achieved their seasonal goal of securing Super League football.
With 40 points from 34 games, the Kitwe-based team finished in 13th place. They had won eleven games, drawn seven, and lost sixteen league matches.
Zeddy Saileti’s Mutondo Stars lost 1-0 to Red Arrows at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Sunday to end the campaign.
In a match against Zanaco in week 33, Mutondo Stars prevailed, sealing their spot in the Super League.
Speaking to Bolanews exclusively, Saileti said he was happy that the team managed to achieve their main objective.
“I think our objective was to remain in the Super Division. We have remained in the Super division, it’s good for the team and it’s good for the players,” he said.
The former Nkana coach believes the club will play better the following season if they prepare properly.
