Zanaco stay unbeaten at the top as Red Arrows, Kabwe Warriors, and FC Muza keep pace in a thrilling MTN Super League week 8.
Konkola Blades 0-1 Zanaco
Zanaco remain top of the MTN Super League after week 8 following their 1-0 away win over Konkola Blades on Sunday, thanks to Brian Kabika, who scored in the 82nd minute. The win means Numba Mumamba’s side remain unbeaten this season, with three draws and five wins, sitting atop the table with 18 points. Blades are now 10th in the standings with just 9 points.
Red Arrows 3-1 Leopards FC
In Lusaka, Red Arrows FC closed in on Zanaco with a resounding 3-1 win over Leopards FC at Nkoloma Stadium. Arrows are now second in the standings with 17 points. They scored through Alassane Diara, who opened the scoring in the 20th minute, before Albert Kangwanda extended the lead in the 43rd minute, marking his fourth goal in four consecutive matches and making him the first player to achieve that feat this season.
After the half-time break, Leopards, still winless this season, pulled one back in the 62nd minute through Gibson Banda, before substitute Angel Libamba added the third goal for the Airmen in the 88th minute.
Mutondo Stars 1-2 Kabwe Warriors
Kabwe Warriors continued their impressive form this season with a 2-1 away win over Mutondo Stars, moving into third place with 15 points. A Joseph Mbulo own goal four minutes into the match and Saith Sakala’s goal in the 65th minute secured victory for the Central Province side.

Mutondo, who have managed just two wins this season, scored through Isaac Mpundu in the 17th, but it wasn’t enough to stop Warriors from claiming all three points. The Ever Green sit 13th in the standings with 8 points, not far from the relegation zone.
Mines United 0-1 FC Muza
FC Muza ended their three-match winless run with a 1-0 away victory over Mines United, courtesy of Lewis Kasono, who scored in the 69th minute. The win moved the Mazabuka side into fifth place in the standings with 14 points. Mines United have managed just one draw this season, a 0-0 draw with Power Dynamos, and are yet to win a match, sitting rock bottom with just a point.
Green Eagles FC 2-0 Nkana FC
Nkana FC continued to sink as they suffered another defeat, this time a 2-0 loss to Green Eagles in Choma. Amity Shamende scored a brace in the 30th and 47th minutes to move Eagles into 7th place with 12 points, following their third win of the season after back-to-back draws. Nkana, whose only win of the season against Green Buffaloes was nullified for using an ineligible player, remain winless and sit deep in the relegation zone with four points in 17th place.
Napsa Stars 1-1 Kansanshi Dynamos
On Saturday, Napsa Stars recorded their third consecutive draw of the season, playing 1-1 with Kansanshi Dynamos at the Reiz Arena in Lusaka. Augustine Mulenga and Franscisco Madinga scored for Napsa and Dynamos, respectively. Kansanshi Dynamos are yet to win a match this season and currently sit in the relegation zone, having recorded five draws and three losses to sit 15th on the table with five points, while Napsa are 12th with 8 points.
Green Buffaloes 1-1 Nchanga Rangers
Green Buffaloes and Nchanga Rangers played out a 1-1 draw. Perkins Mumba scored first for the Zambia Army side in the 61st minute, but Benson Kolala netted a 91st-minute equalizer for Rangers. It was Buffaloes’ third consecutive draw, moving them into sixth place with 12 points, while Nchanga Rangers remain fourth with 14 points.
Defending champions Power Dynamos and Zesco United did not feature in the MTN Super League this weekend due to their CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup fixtures.
