BolaNews, however, shines the light on some of the top ZSL performers in round 32 that have made a cut in our team of the week.
Goalkeeper
Kelvin Malunga (Nkana) – It was a perfect return between the sticks for Malunga as Nkana defeated Napsa Stars 1-nil. It was Aba Red’s first clean sheet after benching Mangani Banda for the first time in two months. They conceded 3 goals in two matches with Malunga on the bench.
Defenders
Sydney Kasanda (FC MUZA) – He was instrumental in thwarting the threats from Nkwazi. He was good at organizing the defense after falling behind following a penalty. He showed a lot of composure and maturity at the back.
Dennis Nya (Zesco United) – The Nigerian defender was excited to watch as he chipped in with a goal for the Ndola side away in Chingola. The goal was a result of his attacking and adventurous contribution overall.
Makambaniso Magenge (Kansanshi Dynamos) – He formed a solid partnership with Shadreck Banda to put in a solid shift. Magenge contributed a goal as he found himself some space inside the Chambishi box to secure maximum points for Kansanshi.
Midfielders
Owen Tembo (Power Dynamos) – He continues to be the engineer of the Power midfield and it was another good run out for Tembo. This time he also came through with a goal from outside the 18-yard area, a sweet Absa Cup revenge.
Fredrick Mulambia (Power Dynamos) – He has been key in opening up the defenses and finding inroads for the Power in attack. Mulambia was on the scoresheet with a cool finish from an Andy Boyeli flick on.
Kelvin Kampamba (Zesco United) – One of the best performances for ‘Kemuka’ and he registered himself on the scoresheet. He was also involved in the other two goals for the Ndola side that beat Nchanga 1-3 in Chingola.
Gift Simanansa (FC MUZA) – He gave a lot of problems to the Nkwazi defense with intelligent runs. He provided an assist and was involved in the third goal. Simanansa makes it to the team of the week for the first time this season.
Amity Shamende (Green Eagles) – His only goal was really vital for Green Eagles to collect maximum points and be in contention for a CAF. Shamende’s well-taken freekick put Prison Leopards goalie Jeff Lungu to the sword as he conceded at the near post.
Strikers
Andrew Phiri (FC MUZA) – For the second time Phiri makes a cut in the team of the week. The striker inspired FC MUZA to a comeback and he ended up with a hat-trick. He was the focal point in the attack for the Mazabuka side and did well to dodge the Nkwazi defenders to get his second on the day.
