Nkana is currently serving a stadium ban following their fans’ unruly behavior in the previous season.
Kalampa have been playing their home matches in Lusaka at Woodlands Stadium.
Matafu tells BolaNews that Nkana’s last match in Lusaka will be the match against their nemesis, Power Dynamos, on November 12, 2023.
He disclosed that thereafter, Nkana will play home matches at Nkana Stadium, also known as Chilata in Kitwe.
The CEO said FAZ’s ruling was for the club to play 60km away from their stadium for three months.
He went on to say that for the other three months of the ban, they will play without fans at Nkana Stadium, while the remaining months before the close of the season will see the return of fans.
“We have not been cleared; it is part of the ban. Our ban was structured in such a way that we will play three months away; the other three months we will have to return to Nkana Stadium without fans. The rest of the three months, we will have fans,” Mutafu said.
“Our last game playing away with fans is the Power [Dynamos] game… After that game we will be back home without fans.”
Nkana foresees losses without fans at Chilata
Mutafu said playing without fans will put the team in a tough financial situation.
“It will be rough; we are now going to be in a very unfortunate situation because we need to fulfil away fixtures but we will not have the game revenue. We urge the supporters to come in numbers for the Kitwe derby so that it can cushion us for some matches to come,” he stated.
