In a crucial match for both teams in a Week 13 Super League match, NAPSA Stars will go to Kitwe on Sunday to play winless Nkana in an attempt to secure their third victory of the year.
With 12 points from 12 games played so far, the Pensioners are now in 11th place, indicating that they have struggled with form this season.
Following their most recent goalless draw with city rivals Nkwazi, NAPSA will be looking to make amends away from home.
The Lusaka-based side have only managed to win two games, drawn six, and lost four matches.
Speaking to the club’s media ahead of the match, head coach Sipho Mumbi insisted on the team’s preparedness to collect a win.
“A very tricky encounter considering that they haven’t won any games, and I am sure they are looking forward to having their first win, but of course we have got our own plan as well. We haven’t done very well the past weeks, so we just have to continue making amends, and this is a game that, you know, we have to win,” he said.
“If we don’t win, we won’t lose. I am not going to exactly say what system we are going to use, but I think we have got a plan, and in the first half, we need to make sure that at least in the first 15 minutes, we have a goal, and then after that, we can see how we can manage the game,” added Mumbi.
Kitwe stadium is a familiar territory for Mumbi, who once was assistant coach at the thirteen times Zambian champions, during the reign of Ian Bakala.
