“We’re Not Worried” – Numba Mumamba On Zanaco Avoiding Relegation

The Bankers have shown signs of improvement despite their recent setbacks, and Mumamba is still hopeful that they will survive.

After leaving Kabwe Warriors this season, Numba Mumamba returned to Godfrey Chitalu Stadium, but his struggling Zanaco team lost, enduring yet another setback in their battle to avoid relegation.

Simon Tonga’s goal in the 83rd minute was sufficient to give Kabwe Warriors all three points, keeping Zanaco in the drop zone.

To make things worse, Mumamba’s team played with just 10 men for the majority of the second half after Chaniza Zulu was sent off in the 62nd minute, which the coach feels significantly affected the result.

“I must say the overall performance from the team was okay; we accounted ourselves well in this game. The unfortunate thing is the time we got a red card, Warriors had an upper hand, and towards the end, they managed to get a goal which has given them the three points.”

Despite their recent struggles, the Bankers have shown flashes of improvement, and Mumamba remains optimistic about their survival chances.

“I’m not really worried looking at the way the team is performing currently. There is a lot of progress that we have noticed as a technical bench. That’s why we are saying we are not worried about us surviving; we still have a lot of games.”

Zanaco has 23 points from 24 games, which puts them second from bottom with 10 games left. Mumamba, nevertheless, thinks his team has enough time to make a change.

“I think ten games is a lot of games ahead of us. All we need is to stay focused so that we come out of relegation as quickly as possible.”
