Red Arrows Football Club have stretched their lead at the summit of the MTN Super League following a comfortable 2-0 victory over Napsa Stars Football Club in a Week 20 encounter.

A clinical brace from Albert Kangwanda secured maximum points for the Airmen, who now move to 39 points as they tighten their grip on the title race. Napsa Stars, meanwhile, remain just above the relegation zone with only two points, as their struggles continue.

Speaking after the match, Red Arrows coach Chisi Mbewe praised his side’s performance, describing the result as a major motivation ahead of a busy fixture schedule.

“We are happy with the way we performed. It’s a motivating result for us going into the next games,” Mbewe said. “The difference today was that we were clinical in front of goal and managed to control the game from the first half.”

The Airmen have now won all nine of their home matches this season. However, Mbewe admitted that improving their away form remains a priority.

“We have not been good travellers, but we need to change the narrative. Away points are important if we are to achieve our goals,” he added.

Napsa Stars interim coach Tenant Chilumba expressed disappointment with the result but saw positives in his side’s display.

“First half we did well, but in the second half we couldn’t contain the pressure. A few mistakes cost us the game,” Chilumba said. “There’s room for improvement, and we will work on that.”
