Nkana FC bounced back to winning ways following the departure of Mwenya Chipepo with the club beating Konkola Blades 2-0 at Nkana Stadium on Saturday.
Earlier this week, the club handed Mwenya Chipepo an administrative leave and gave former Chipolopolo Boys defender, Elijah Tana an interim head coach role.
Tana, a Chipolopolo legend has made a good first impression, ending the clubs three match losing run with a win over Blades, who upto now had not lost a game this year.
Charles Zulu and Lazarus Kambole gave Nkana the important goals much to the delight of the home fans.
Zulu scored in the 35th minute before Kambole added the cherry on the cake in the 55th minute.
Reacting to the positive outcome, Nkana assistant coach, Josphat Nkhoma said the victory has given Kalampa going into the next fixture against Mutondo Stars this coming weekend.
“We are happy with the win. We lost three games, we lost away to Buffaloes and Zanaco and we lost here against Kabwe Warriors. Winning today against Konkola Blades has given us the morale and confidence knowing that we can also win the next match. Our defense has improved, the clean sheet today makes out team to believe that we can play without conceding goals. Against Mutondo Stars, it is always a difficult fixture” he said.
