Choma team lost 2-1 to Atletico Lusaka at Independence Stadium, and Green Eagles Football Club head coach Kebby Hachipuka admitted defeat.
The 2024–25 season saw Bad Boys defeat Tonka Twende and earn a perfect score.
With 31 points after the loss, Green Eagles are now four points above the relegation zone in 10th place in the league standings.
A stunned Hachipuka stated in a post-match interview that his team’s lack of focus in the closing minutes allowed Atletico Lusaka to rally from behind and win in the last seconds.
“We controlled the game throughout 90 minutes, but we came to lose concentration in the dying minutes,” Hachipuka noted.
“We conceded the first goal in the dying minutes of the first half, same as the second goal, when the game is almost done.“
The gaffer is, however, optimistic about bouncing back to winning ways after the team scored their first goal in four matches.
Hachipuka has set his sights on the next match against Nchanga Rangers, who beat Nkana 2-0 at Nchanga Stadium in Chingola on Saturday afternoon.
“We’ll bounce back, as you’ve seen today we’ve managed to get a goal which was the major problem,” Hachipuka said.
He adds, “We’ll be hosting Nchanga Rangers, who are also struggling like we are also struggling.”
