With just one victory in their previous seven matches, Zanaco coach Wedson Nyirenda believes his players are wounded and will fight for a win against Kansanshi Dynamos this weekend.
The Bankers have fallen out of the top four and are currently sitting 8th in the standings with 15 points after week eleven.
A victory against Kansanshi would allow them to keep dreaming of going for the title, while a loss would cause them to further drop in the league standings.
However, Nyirenda believes his players miss match bonuses.
“The boys know what they are missing; they have not gotten their bonuses out of the last few games,” he said during his pre-match interview with the club’s media.
Nyirenda is of the view that his team has put behind their previous defeat to Green Buffaloes and will look to beat Kansanshi.
“The players have looked very good. They have thrown the past game behind their backs, and we expect a very tenacious game,” he said.
Nyirenda is not ruling out the possibility of competing in the nation’s sole Cup tournament, especially with a few games left in the first half of the season where ABSA Cup spots are up for grabs.
“The points are so close with the teams that are on top of us but in the next two or three games, the clear picture will show,” he added.
