For the second time in a row, Zesco United failed to score in a derby as they played out a goalless draw, this time against Forest Rangers in the Ndola derby at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
This barren draw follows another scoreless outing against Indeni FC last week, also in a derby.

The result saw them slip from first to second place on the MTN Super League table with Power Dynamos taking over the leadership.
Speaking after the match, Zesco United interim head coach Emmanuel Siwale admitted he expected a tough contest.
“It’s a derby, it was a derby, and I expected it to be tough. And it was tough. Sometimes it’s not what we wanted, we just have to keep on pushing. A point is good, it will take us somewhere, but it’s not what we wanted. What we wanted is three points.”

Siwale has urged his team to work harder to avoid slipping further down the table. With a crucial away fixture against struggling Zanaco FC in Lusaka, he emphasized the need for immediate improvement.
“The League Is Tough” – Siwale.
“We have to work extra hard. What we need to do is not to go any further down, but we just have to keep on working and bounce back because we have few games to go.“
Looking ahead to the Zanaco clash, Siwale stressed that only strong mentalities will help them navigate the title race in a highly competitive league.
“You know our league is tough, and we should not just drop the guard. That’s where we need men, not boys. We just have to keep ourselves up there so that we find ourselves finishing on top, like we want it to be—that’s what we want.”
