Perry Mutapa, head coach of Green Eagles, says his team is ready to put on a solid show against Nkwazi in Saturday’s Week Seven match at Edwin Imboela Stadium.
Green Eagles will visit a winless Nkwazi side who are in desperate need of their first victory of the season.
Following a 2-2 draw with FC Leopards the previous week, Eagles will be looking to build on that performance.
With eight points from two wins, two draws, and two losses, the Choma-based team is currently ranked eighth in the league standings.
Nkwazi is 15th on the log with no wins, three draws, and three losses.
However, speaking to the club’s media ahead of the match, Mutapa highlighted the importance of collecting a positive result.
“We are very ready, and we hope we will do better. To prepare, we have to do what we can, but of course, playing a side that has not won, we know they are looking for their first victory, so they are going to play their lungs out to get a win, but equally, we as Green Eagles want to get a positive result,” he said.
“We shouldn’t take that for granted. We have done very well away; we haven’t lost a game, but every game is different. Yes, we picked up our first point at home and scored our first two goals at home. This is a different ballgame; the most important thing is to plan for Nkwazi and treat this game as a different game from the rest of the games,” noted Mutapa.
With a victory, the Eagles will move into the top three of the league rankings.
