Zanaco Football Club head coach Numba Mumamba has assured fans that they can expect a stronger and more competitive side this season, as the Bankers aim to improve on last season’s performance in the MTN Super League.
The Bankers opened their 2025-26 campaign with a goalless draw against FC MUZA in Mazabuka last weekend and will host Kansanshi Dynamos in a Week Two fixture at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka on Saturday.
Mumamba, said his side is determined to secure maximum points, in front of their home supporters.
“Our preparations have been going on well. This is a game we need to work hard in to collect maximum points, especially since we dropped two points to MUZA,” Mumamba said.
The Zanaco coach also praised the club’s sponsors for their commitment to improving the matchday experience at Sunset Stadium.
“It is a big motivation looking at what our sponsors have put in to renovate this pitch and make it habitable for the fans. We really appreciate it, and we have to give back by producing positive results that will encourage them to continue investing in the team,” he added.
Addressing the fans, Mumamba urged them to look forward to a transformed Zanaco side this season.
“We are a different team this time, and our fans should not have the perception of last season. New things are coming, and the team will perform better,” he said.
Looking ahead to Saturday’s clash, Mumamba cautioned his charges against taking Kansanshi Dynamos lightly.
“We expect a tough game against Kansanshi Dynamos, they are not a team to underrate,” he warned.
