Even though Power Dynamos had some difficulties in the opening round of the 2024–25 season, club president Benny Simukoko is still certain the team can win the league for the eighth time.
Power Dynamos have 29 points from 18 games, which puts them in sixth place right now.
Power claimed their seventh title during the 2022-23 season, with former coach, Mwenya Chipepo, who is now coaching rival side, Nkana FC.
Aba Yellow with coach Oswald Mutapa have had a mixed record, winning eight games, drawing five, and losing five. Some supporters have even called for his dismissal.
Dynamos president Benny Simukoko is hopeful the team will reverse the trend in the second half of the season, according to a club statement.
“Despite the challenges we have faced in the first half of the Season, our targets remain the same, to win the league and I still believe we have a chance to become Champions“
“No Hooliganism” – Simukoko.
“But it is crucial that we treat every upcoming game as if it were a final given fierce competition among the top teams. This also demands that you our fans effectively support the team,”read the statement.
On the other hand, Simukoko warned fans to desist from engaging into violence at the Stadium.
“We must always remember that football is a team sport and it is teamwork that makes the team win. Everyone is an integral part of Power dynamos and we should build this bond by effectively supporting the Executive, Technical team and players as a united family,”
“Regardless of the outcome on the pitch, let’s refuse to engage in hooliganism. With dignity and without violence, we triumph or fail. “Let’s declare ADS a stadium free of violence,” Simukoko said.
Power Dynamos will visit Red Arrows when the Zambian Premier league resumes on 11th January 2025 after the mid-term break.
