Midfielder Patson Kwataine of the Mufulira Wanderers Football Club has stated that his side is in Lusaka to win when they play Red Arrows this afternoon at Nkoloma Stadium.

They are coming off a scoreless draw against Atletico Lusaka, while Red Arrows lost 1-0 to Nchanga Rangers in Chingola.

With 12 points, Wanderers are in 15th place, and the Airmen have 18 points, which puts them in 8th place.

In an interview, Kwataine stated that the team aims to defeat the Red Arrows.

Kwataine said Mufulira Wanderers aim to move out of the relegation zone in the standings.

“We have prepared adequately for Red Arrows. Everyone is looking forward to collecting maximum points,” Kwataine said.

“As a team we set targets, looking forward to collecting maximum points against Red Arrows… If we collect maximum points against Arrows, it means we didn’t just come here for fun; we came here for business and work, of which we promise our fans we are going to collect maximum even as we go back home to play Indeni,” he stated.

Kwataine On Mentality

He has called for a strong mentality among the team to move up on the table.

“The only thing we need to do is come together and have one goal, which is the winning mentality that we are working on. We promise our fans we are going to collect maximum points, which will see us with 15 points. If we win against Indeni, we will move to 18 points, which will take us to position eight or seven. It will motivate us,” Kwataine said.

The MTN Super League enters week 13 this season, with various matches across the country likely to change the log positions.

League leaders ZESCO United are away to FC MUZA. At the same time, second-placed Green Buffaloes will take on Nkwazi in a Lusaka derby as inform Nkana face ZANACO Football Club at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.
