Sipho Mumbi, the head coach of NAPSA Stars, blamed his team’s 2-0 loss to Power Dynamos, the league’s defending champions, at Arthur Davies Stadium on Saturday on a lack of focus.
The NAPSA Stars have now lost twice in the league after losing to the visiting Green Eagles at REIZ Arena in their first Super League game.
With a confident start, Power Dynamos pressed hard to score an early goal, but it wasn’t until the 50th minute.
But the defense of the Napsa Stars remained strong, blocking the home team’s efforts and preventing a goal at the half.
Moses Shumah’s goal gave Aba Yellow the late lead five minutes after the second stanza resumed.
Shumah, a brace hero, scored in the 90th minute to give Power Dynamos the win.
Speaking after the match, Mumbi was left unhappy with the defeat.
“Very disappointed considering how we had planned for this game. I think in the first place, we played according to plan, but in the second half, when they scored, it made our plans disjointed.”
With two points so far, Napsa Stars are now in 16th place in the Zambian Super League standings.
