There is a transfer dispute between Power Dynamos FC and Zambian Super League newcomers, Trident F.C., regarding the signing of 20-year-old Congolese striker Beby Onka Musangala.

Despite Power Dynamos unveiling the youngster as their new signing two days ago, the transfer is currently in question.

Musangala, a player from AC Rangers in DR Congo, was loaned to Trident F.C last season. As per their agreement, if the player is permanently sold, Trident F.C. is supposed to retain a 40% share.

However, it has been reported that the Power Dynamos directly negotiated with the Rangers to sign the player, which has upset the Conquerors, who believe there has been a breach of contractual agreements.

In an exclusive interview with Bolanews, Trident F.C President Mainza Mazuba revealed that they have lodged a complaint with the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) players status committee against Power Dynamos, seeking guidance.

“There are a lot of issues surrounding that transfer, but for now, we have left it with FAZ. We have written to FAZ, and FAZ is working on it,” he said.

Attempts to obtain a response from Power Dynamos and FAZ were unsuccessful at the time of publishing.

Trident to unveil six new players

Meanwhile, commenting on their preparations ahead of their first-ever Super League campaign following, Mazuba anticipates a tough run in the top flight.

“The league is tough. It’s not like the way the National League is; we have to prepare ourselves,” he told Bolanews.

“It’s a new league; we have to learn and we have to beef up the team, and also in terms of tactical preparation, we also need to advance. We are bringing in about six players, and by next week we will unveil our new players.”

Trident F.C. will become only the third team from North Western province to ever participate in the MTN Super League.

They will kick off their campaign with a home against Kansashi Dynamos at home on August 19th.
