“This is a big challenge”- Ndhlovu, reveals plan to beat Kansanshi and Warriors

FC MUZA need nothing less than a win to secure remaining CAF slot, which equally depends on results of their rivals Zesco United and Power Dynamos.

FC MUZA coach Mathews Ndhlovu is aiming to collect six points over Kansanshi Dynamos and Kabwe Warriors in their last two matches.

The Elegant Dynamites with 50 points are competing for the only CAF Confederation slot with Zesco United (56) and former league champions, Power Dynamos (52).

The team qualified for their first-ever CAF Confederation Cup debut after finishing in second place the previous season, although they were ousted in the pre-group rounds.

Following their goalless draw against Green Buffaloes last Sunday, FC MUZA missed a chance to further catch up with third-placed Power Dynamos and second-placed ZESCO United.

Ndhlovu regretted his side’s missed chances but remains hopeful they can rebound against relegation-threatened Kansanshi Dynamos on Saturday at Independence Stadium in Solwezi.

“This is a big challenge because, looking at the objective, we want to catch up with ZESCO. I think we just have to work extra hard,” he said. “We need to work on our striking force because if we can’t score, then we can reach the challenge [CAF Confederation Cup qualification], which is there.”

The gaffer believes the race to finish second is still going on. However, ZESCO United can knock FC MUZA out of the CAF Confederation Cup chase with a win this weekend.

The Elegant Dynamites need nothing less than a win to still stand a chance, which equally depends on results from elsewhere.

“We need to work until the final whistle, especially the strikers, if they can utilize those chances. The last two games are equally tricky and tough, so our preparations matter the most,” Ndhlovu stated.
