Nkana FC head coach Elijah Tana has insisted that Konkola Blades are not in his team’s class despite Kalampa suffering a 2-0 defeat to Sharp Razor that ended their unbeaten run in the 2026 Transitional League.
Nkana suffered the defeat in a week-five fixture at Konkola Stadium on Sunday, bringing an end to a run of three consecutive victories.
The result left the 13-time Zambian champions in Stream A with nine points, one behind leaders FC MUZA, who have 10 points.
Sharp Razor took control of the tightly contested encounter in the 35th minute through Emmanuel Kunda before former Nkana striker Idris Mbombo doubled the hosts’ advantage in the 48th minute as the visitors pushed for an equaliser.

Reacting to the defeat, Tana expressed disappointment with the manner in which his side conceded the two goals.
“Those were silly goals. I am not happy with the way we approached the game,” he said.
However, Tana insisted that the defeat would not affect his team’s mentality ahead of this weekend’s derby against Power Dynamos. He urged his players to remain focused on the challenge ahead.
“It can’t make us feel bad. We will go back and encourage our young boys to perform well at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium,” Tana said. “I know they are angry about losing to Konkola because Konkola is not our class.”
Tana also dismissed suggestions that his team had underestimated Konkola Blades, attributing the defeat to a bad day and a lack of luck.
“I can’t say there was any complacency in my team. It was just a (bad) day. We didn’t have luck,” he said.
