Zesco United FC midfielder Abraham Siankombo says his ambitions with the team are to win trophies and play in CAF competitions.
Siankombo joined Zesco United from Zanaco and signed a two-year contract at the start of the 2023–24 season, following the expiration of his contract with the bankers.
The 25-year-old left-footed player, who also plays as a winger, spent three years with Zanaco after leaving Police College.
He was also part of the Chipolopolo 2023 Cosafa Championship-winning squad.
Siankombo has quickly established himself as one of Geroge Lwandamina’s key signings as the club seeks its tenth league title this season.
The Ndola-based side defeated Nkwazi FC 2-1 in their last league match at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium. Siankombo scored the first goal for United.
In an exclusive interview with Bolanews, Siankombo revealed that his primary objective for this season is to help Zesco United return to the CAF Champions League and win the domestic league.
“I want to win the league and also score at least ten goals,” he said. “I also want to help Zesco United play the CAF Champions League; that’s my main target this season.”
Siankombo has four goals for Zesco United this season and will be crucial in helping the nine-time champions return to continental football at the end of the campaign.

Zesco is currently leading the league standings with 39 points from 20 matches played so far.
Siankombo was also part of the 50-member squad summoned by Avram Grant ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where Zambia crashed out in the group stage.
He will be hoping to called again for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
