Zesco United winger, Abraham Siankombo, says he is now eager to assist the squad in advancing past the CAF Champions League group stages this time.
Earlier this season, Zesco United were eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup, in the first round.
Zesco United is Zambia’s most successful team in CAF football but the team has been inconsistent as they have failed to secure back to back qualification to the Champions league and Confederation’s Cup respectively.
Siankombo, their new acquistion has been in outstanding form for the Ndola based side, scoring crucial goals and putting up a brilliant performance for the club this season.
He joined Zega from Zanaco and penned a two year deal at the start of the 2023-24 season after his contract expired with the bankers.
Siankombo, has since established himself as a regular player for Zesco, and will play an integral role in helping the team claim their 10th League title.
Speaking to Bolanews exclusively, Siankombo spoken about how he is working hard to ensure he helps his team get back to competiting in the CAF Champions League.
“My target will always be helping my team to play CAF football and reach group stage, last time we failed but this time around we will do our level best to reach the group stage,“he said.
Siankombo has provided 5 assists and scored two goals.
Zesco currently leads the league table with 20 points from nine matches played so far. The nine-times league Champions will face Zanaco in a Week 10 Super league fixture this Saturday.
