Ten-men Red Arrows defeated second-placed Green Buffaloes 1-0 in a rescheduled Week One encounter played at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka on Thursday afternoon.

Ricky Banda’s strike in the first half in the 43rd minute was enough for Chisi Mbewe’s side to maintain their 100% perfect start to the 2024-25 Zambian Super League season.

Godfrey Ngwenya clinically beat his markers to square it off for Banda, who made no mistake.

Green Buffaloes have registered their first defeat of the season as they failed to recover after going down in the two minutes before the 45th minute mark.

At the 61st minute mark, Peter Kalota of Red Arrows got an early shower after being red carded for a reckless challenge on Lucky Bwalya.

Despite having a numerical advantage, Masautso Tembo’s side failed to unlock the solid Red Arrows defence, with Charles Kalumba producing some fine saves against Mashata in additional time.

The Airmen have registered their second win of the season to move into sixth place, while the Zambia Army-sponsored side remains on 7 points in second position.

Meanwhile, Zesco United has also recorded their second win of the season following a 1-0 win over Napsa Stars at REIZ Arena Stadium in Lusaka.

Edward Lungu scored the only goal of the game which was also his first in Zenga Mano colours.

The Ndola side have also maintained a 100% perfect start to the new season. Last Sunday, Zesco United beat Nkana by 1-0 to collect full points.
