At Edwin Imboela stadium on Wednesday, in a Week 29 super league fixture, in the battle for survival, Nkwazi edged visiting NAPSA Stars 2-1 to brighten their chances of surviving relegation.
Power Dynamos have opened up a seven points lead at the summit of the league, while High Flying Nkwazi climbed to 14th, moving out of the relegation zone.
Elsewhere at Nkana stadium, Mines United lost 3-1 to home side, Nkana FC. Mutondo Stars lost 0-1 to visiting Green Eagles. Nkana is 11th with 34 points while Mines United is bottom with 15 points from 28 matches.
Green Eagles with a victory over Mutondo Stars have moved to 8th with 41 points, with Mutondo Stars stuck on 15 slot at the top of the relegation zone.
At Godfrey Ucar Chitalu stadium, Kabwe Warriors suffered 0-3 defeat to league defending champions, Power Dynamos.
Moses Shumah, the league top scorer, hit twice for Aba Yellow, to increase his goal tally to 20 goals in his debut season in the Zambian Premier League.
NAPSA Stars head coach Tennant Chilumba is disappointed with the defeat. NAPSA Stars dropped into 16th position in the D-zone.
“We didn’t play according to plan. We just have to prepare well and make sure we win our remaining games,” he said.
Chilumba has turned his sight to their next fixture against Zesco United, scheduled for Thursday, 23rd April 2026.
