Saviour Phiri, having joined Zanaco in 2024 from Mines United, he has settled well making an impact at the Bankers.
However, in the first round of the season he sustained an injury keeping him out of action for five months.
During his recovery, Phiri disclosed how head coach Numba Mumamba influenced him to regain his form since joining the bankers.
Speaking to Bolanews in an exclusive interview, Phiri said, “Coach is really someone who believes in me and my abilities. We have had one-on-one conversations with him just to try and remind me what I can do on the pitch with my abilities,” he said.
In the second half of the season Phiri has featured in four games and managed to score only one goal.
“Even the time I had my injury, I think he is one person who really talked to me, saying you really have a long way to go with the league, so once you come back, make sure you are doing the right thing that will make you start playing the games. So he is someone who has helped me to have that self-confidence and belief in myself. He is someone who has helped me to go an extra mile,” added Phiri.

Meanwhile, Zanaco are currently fourth-placed with 42 points from 25 games played, marking 12 wins, 6 draws, and seven defeats.
The bankers will face Green Eagles in their next Super League fixture on the 1st of April at Sunset Stadium.
