Winless Nkwazi FC will host in-form Mufulira Wanderers in a Week 25 fixture at Edwin Imboela Stadium on Sunday.
Nkwazi have failed to register a win in five league matches, pushing them deep in the relegation waters.
The police-sponsored side is 16th placed on the league table with 19 points from 23 matches played so far.
Speaking to the club’s media in an interview ahead of the match, first assistant coach Keegan Phiri acknowledged the challenge ahead but believes the team is ready to bounce back to winning ways.
“We are in a difficult moment, but we need to react. We are coming from a loss; we are at home; we need to pick up a maximum of three points, but we know Mufulira Wanderers have been doing well of late; they are also coming from a win,” he said.
“But we know that the games are slowly running out. We still have a chance; we just need to believe. We know that we have put ourselves in a very difficult situation, but it’s us who are going to lift ourselves from where we are,” noted coach Phiri.
On Wednesday, Green Eagles defeated Nkwazi 0-1 in their midweek fixture and will be seeking to redeem themselves in front of their home fans.
“Of course we are under pressure. We know that if we do the right things the way we are playing, we are playing very well, but we know what is important is to put the ball at the back of the net, and that has been our problem, which we have worked on, and we hope we will do better than we did,” added Phiri.
