Tanzanian giants, Simba Sporting Club are closing in on appointing Napsa stars coach Perry Mutapa as their new assistant coach in a bid to restructure their technical bench.
Sources close to the deal have confirmed to Bola News that Mutapa is expected to take up the role of an assistant coach at Simba, and he will be the deputy to the new head coach yet to be unveiled.
Yes, talks are almost done now, Simba has settled for Mutapa as their new assistant coach but obviously as you are aware Mutapa signed a new contract with Napsa stars recently, and his representatives want to facilitate a smooth transition as he leaves the team.
the source revealed to Bola News.
Simba parted ways with Serbian coach Zoran Manojlovic two months after engaging him, a move that is said to have disappointed the club’s top management who now want to see a change in how the appointing of the technical bench is done.
The Tanzanian club’s main objective is to have a stable technical bench to achieve long-term goals such as winning the domestic League as well as the CAF Champions League and Mutapa is being viewed as a perfect addition to their technical bench, especially after his successful stint at Napsa stars last season.
Mutapa joined Napsa stars in the 2020/21 season where he helped the pensioners secure promotion to the Super League and also win the ABSA CUP for the first time in 10 years.
Bola News also understands that Mutapa has been offered a whopping monthly salary of $5,000 to join Simba, pay that is too good to ignore.
Before joining Napsa stars, Mutapa coached Power Dynamo and Forest Rangers and will now look to start a new journey in Tanzania with a deal almost done.
