The slender victory was only the fourth win for the 13-times Zambian champions who have struggled the entire first half of the 2023-24 football season.

In the forty-third minute, Royd Katuna gave Nkana the lead for the first time, and Kalampa maintained that advantage until the final whistle, sending the visiting supporters into wild jubilation.

Early at the same venue, Green Buffaloes handed league debutants, Trident their seventh loss of the season with a 2-0.
