At the Edwin Imboela Stadium on Saturday, Nkwazi Football Club will play host to Zesco United, the nine-time champion of the Zambian Super League.
The host team, who began the season with a win over newly promoted Konkola Blades by the score of 1-0, will be hoping to keep up their strong start against Zesco United.
While, Zesco United on the other hand will seek redemption after playing out to a 1-1 draw against Prison Leopards last weekend.
However, Nkwazi head coach Oswald Mutapa told the media during a news conference prior to the game that the police-sponsored team is prepared to battle on home turf.
“We have looked at their strongest point they have quality players that I guess we are able to march them what is important is the application on the day of the game. Our team is different from the one that survived relegation the players are ready and looking forward to the game”.
“This team is hungry for a win, and we are playing at home so we should be comfortable because we need the results, and we need to capitalize on home advantage and collect maximum points. We can beat any team on our day,” added Mutapa.

Zesco United is in second place with four points and will be looking to go atop the table if they win today’s game, while Nkwazi is in fifth place with three points and still has a game against Power Dynamos to play.
The police teams’ next task will pit them against City rivals Green Buffaloes FC, and Zesco United will host Konkola Blades at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
