Zambian Super League side, Nkana Football Club has issued a warning to football agents not to mislead their players into joining other clubs without following the proper procedure.

Following the completion of a permanent transfer agreement for striker Alex Ng’onga with Democratic Republic of the Congo giants TP Mazembe, it is believed that some individuals claiming to be agents have been targeting the Kitwe-based club with the intention of secretly assisting some of their players to sign with clubs in the neighboring Congolese league.

Nkana has since issued a statement warning that the club will not hesitate to take action against anyone found wanting.

“The club would like to send a stern warning to both the unscrupulous agents and the unsuspecting players that it will not hesitate to take appropriate action against such individuals,” read part of the club statement.

In the same statement, Nkana’s Chief Executive Officer, Kelvin Mutafu, stated that the club currently has no contracted players for sale.

“We wish to state that all our current players have running contracts, which in some cases run-up to the end of the season while others go beyond. Therefore, our players are not available for sale, and we wish to advise agents to stay away.”

After selling striker Alex Ng’onga and Gilroy Chimwemwe to TP Mazembe, the club says it is looking to strengthen its squad with new signings as soon as possible.
