The Nkana FC coach received harsh criticism from fans due to his team’s continued poor performance in the Zambian Super League.
After Kalampa were held to a 1-1 draw by Chambishi F.C. over the weekend, some fans questioned his team selection.
They have further panned his tactical acumen, with some calling for his immediate sacking.
The fans took to social media to express their dissatisfaction with the 13-time Zambian champions’ performance this season.
Silwimba Changwe Stanley, a facebook user wrote, “BC MUST GO! people are saying we must buy Quality players, ba muza which players do they have? when we had Quality players likes of mbombo, Walter Bwalya, m/musa, sate sate, muba, gift Zulu, tshimenga to mention a few. did he win league the is no, we chased him, I team lyalibakulila. The man is a failed project.”
Musaope Musakanya also shared his thoughts, “Better to leave when people are still clapping for you. Nkana needs a new coach.”
“Whatever Goes Up Must Come Down. Here comes a moment for hard decisions in the interest of the club,“ a Nkana fan, Davies Kasengele, posted on Facebook suggesting Chaambeshi must be sacked.
Shi Chilambe also wrote, “I try to refrain from commenting on our coach, Beston, but the trend has been that his substitutions are always very questionable. Whenever Nkana is leading, he chooses to substitute, and always like clockwork, we concede.”
“We are treading on very thin ice….we need quick turn around of results and survive looming relegation. We also need to strategise for next season to contend for the title,” wrote Chanda Lubindo
“BESTON CHAMBESHI MUST GO WHEN PEOPLE ARE STILL CLAPPING.”
“The Failure By Exco Not To Act Fast On The Technical Bench Will Result To NKANA FC Play Division One Next Season. Yes We Thank You For Part/Role Coach Chambeshi Has Done For Nkana FC But Personally I Feel He Must Leave . Our coach is lacking some more subtle technical touches to add flavour to the material we currently have. His continuously pathetic reading and substitutions leave so much to be desired.” wrote Chishatama Bennacio Benny on the Nkana football club’s Facebook page.
Nkana are currently just one place above the relegation zone with 25 points and will host Nchanga Rangers on Sunday for their week 23 fixture.
Chambeshi will look to prove his critics wrong after going three matches consecutively without recording a win in the league.
