Mathews Ndhlovu has left his post as Zesco United senior coach following the club’s elimination from the Confederation Cup.
Ndhlovu, a CAF A Licence holder, was appointed head coach for Zesco when they qualified for the group stage of the Confederation Cup.
His appointment was made to ensure that the club met CAF’s requirement of having a head coach with a minimum CAF A license for the group stage.
During his tenure, the club failed to progress beyond the group stage after finishing bottom of Group D with three points.
The team managed only one win while suffering five defeats. They also recorded the worst scoring and defensive record in the group, scoring three goals and conceding eight.
A club source has exclusively confirmed to Bolanews that Ndhlovu has left the team.
“He is no longer with the team. His contract was tied to progression in the Confederation Cup,” the source said.
