MTN Super League side Nchanga Rangers FC and South Africa’s DSTV Premiership club Kaizer Chiefs have reached an agreement over the signing of Congolese forward Christian Saile.
Negotiations between the two parties were earlier stymied after Chiefs rejected the asking price proposed by Nchanga Rangers but the two have since reached a mutual agreement and settled for a K7.5 million fee.
During the mid-season break, the Congolese forward attended trials at Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa for two weeks, where he is said to have impressed the Aurthur Zwane-led technical bench.
After the two sides failed to reach an agreement on the transfer fee, Saile returned to Zambia and appeared in Rangers’ 2-1 win against Zanaco last weekend, scoring a brace to bid farewell to the club’s fans.
The South Africans are said to have returned to the negotiating table following their ongoing struggles this season in the DSTV Premiership, having lost two matches consecutively, 0-1 against Sekhukhune United, and a 4-0 humiliating defeat to Amazulu.
Meanwhile, a source close to the deal has exclusively disclosed to BolaNews that Chiefs agreed to settle the asked transfer fee by Rangers after being reluctant, and it’s almost a done deal.
” Yes, I can confirm that the two sides have reached an agreement, after Kaizer Chiefs rejected the asking price that we had put up on the table, they agreed the transfer fee is K7.5 million Zambian kwacha,” said the source.
The source also revealed that Rangers will soon replace their talisman with another Congolese striker whose name will soon be disclosed once negotiations are complete.
Saile joined the Chingola-based side in 2020 and helped the team secure promotion to the Super League after scoring 19 goals, which also saw him emerge as the top scorer in the league.
