Napsa Stars told to beat Green Eagles

Lubinda is demanding back-to-back wins as Napsa prepares for Green Eagles clash.

Napsa Stars assistant coach Lawrence M. Lubinda is calling for consistency as his side targets a second consecutive victory following their 1-0 away triumph over Nkana last weekend. The Pensioners face Green Eagles at the Reiz Arena Stadium on Saturday, and Lubinda insists the team must build on their momentum.

“We demand consistency from a win, so we are pushing to have a second win. Hopefully, we are going to pick it up because of the preparation we have done,” he said in a pre-match interview.

However, Napsa will face a determined Green Eagles side desperate to turn things around after three straight defeats. Lubinda expects a tough challenge but remains confident in his team’s preparations.

“Tough game because they are coming from a loss. I think they have prepared well for us. I think they have lost three in a row—tough game. Every game is a tough game in the Premier League.”

Coming off a crucial win against Nkana, Napsa sees this as a morale booster heading into their next encounter. However, the technical bench is demanding even more effort from the squad.

“It’s a huge motivation, but what we demand from the boys is massive hard work. We have always given them the information that we don’t maintain the winning team but a working team.”

Napsa will be without captain Dickson Chapa, who sustained an injury during the Nkana match. Lubinda admits his absence is a setback but believes it’s an opportunity for someone else to step up.

“It’s a huge blow. Team captain—he covers a lot of areas in whichever game he plays. We are really going to miss him, but it’s an opportunity for another player.”
