Napsa Stars head coach Sipho Mumbi says he is pleased to see his players fully recover from the painful 2-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of FC Leopards in their previous MTN Super League match.
The Pensioners host city rivals Nkwazi FC on Friday afternoon at the Reiz Arena in their Week 12 fixture.
Napsa head into today’s match sitting 12th on the league table with 11 points from 11 matches, having recorded just two wins, five draws, and four defeats.
“I think so far so good. Coming from a loss in Kabwe, we thank God we had a week to psyche our players to get back to the winning ways. The boys look set and ready for Friday’s game,” he said.
“So far so good; it has not been easy losing against Prison Leopards, but you know these are people who know that at the end of the day they have to do their job, so I am hoping and praying that we rebound and get back to winning ways.”
Mumbi also urged supporters to stand behind the team.
“They have to continue fighting; it has not been easy for all of us, the technical bench, the players—it hasn’t been easy, but we pray that they continue supporting the team. At the end of the day, we as a team always strive to win every game, but you know sometimes it’s not in our control, so let them continue supporting the team,” concluded the coach.
With the season progressing, the Pensioners will need to improve their results and start collecting maximum points to avoid sliding towards the relegation zone.
