Muwowo, who joined Power Dynamos as a free agent from nine-time Zambian champions Zesco United on a one-and-a-half-year contract, has found his footing at the Kitwe-based club.
The former Nkana FC midfielder has been impressive for Power Dynamos. On Sunday, he netted a brace in his side’s 4-0 victory over Green Eagles in the Zambian Super League.
Muwowo left Nkana to join Soweto-based club Orlando Pirates in 2019, but he struggled for playing time during his two-year stint with the DSTV Premiership side under both Rhulani Mokwena and Zinnbauer.
During the 2019–2020 season, he only made two appearances for Pirates in the league. Both appearances amounted to just 18 minutes from the bench.
Before joining the Buccaneers, the then-22-year-old Zambian winger was on loan at Forest Rangers, where he scored 10 goals, assisted eight times. He also won the 2019 Zambian Super League season player of the year award and the Golden Boot.
Is Muwowo willing to return to South Africa?
When asked if he was still interested in returning to South Africa, Muwowo told Bolanews in an exclusive interview that he would only retrun if certain conditions were met.
“Going back to SA, you know [maybe if it’s] a good deal,” he said. ” And I would like some things to be changed in the contract, like the things that are going to benefit me. That’s all I can say about SA.”
For now, the 27-year-old is fully focused on helping Power Dynamos and achieving his personal targets in the Zambian league.
“Since the pre-season, I had set goals. I wanted to achieve something at the end of the season. My prayer was to compete for player of the year and top scorer, to be consistent… And to play and score in every game,” he said.
Muwowo has so far scored three goals in 11 matches in the league and he is hoping to score more.
