Power Dynamos head coach Osward Mutapa highlighted the importance of keeping a clean sheet in their nil-all draw against Forest Rangers on Saturday in Week 21 of the MTN FAZ Super League.

Mutapa singled out the defensive discipline as the key takeaway from the match.

“It’s a fair result in the sense that today we didn’t create chances, but for me, positive thing cleansheet away from home. We knew their play was always to put balls into the box,” he said.

Power Dynamos were dealt an early blow when playmaker Prince Mumba was forced off in the first half due to injury.

He admitted the team struggled to cope with his absence, as Mumba had been dictating play before his substitution.

“We missed Prince. If you saw the time he was on the pitch, he was dictating play for us. It’s sad to lose him that early, but players who come in should step up. If you’re given a chance, show that you can play,” Mutapa said, taking a swipe at his other players for failing to fill the void.

The draw meant Power Dynamos missed an opportunity to climb higher on the log standings, staying in 4th place.

The former Nkwazi coach acknowledged the setback but remained optimistic about turning things around in the next fixtures.

“Damage is there, but this is football. We still have so many games to go. Hopefully, we rectify that with the coming game,” he concluded.
