Power Dynamos coach Osward Mutapa is wary of the danger that FC Leopards poses to his team ahead of Wednesday’s encounter at President Stadium in Kabwe.
Following their disappointments in the CAF Inter-Club competitions, Power and Zesco United return to domestic duties, with both teams facing tricky opposition.
Power are away to FC Leopards, formerly Prison Leopards, while Zesco welcome Nchanga Rangers at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Power lost 1–0 to Pyramids FC in the Champions League, while Zesco played to a 3–2 loss to Al Masry.
Mutapa said in an interview that his team needs to put behind the disappointment of losing in the Champions League and focus on league football for now.
“We should forget for a while, move away from continental football, and focus on the league because it is the one that made us play continental football, so we should start collecting points again,” he said.
He said the loss to the Pyramids will have no bearing on the team.
“This is our domestic league, which we should focus on; the Champions League [result] is water under the bridge, so I think that is something that we have spoken about with the players,” Mutapa said.
He warned that Leopards, who are third from the bottom, will not be easy to break.
“It is always difficult playing teams that are fighting for their stay in the Super League; they always make things difficult but I feel we have an edge and the quality so we should go out there believing in ourselves and play to win,” he said.
