Former Kabwe Warriors FC left-back Ocean Mushure is set to return to Zimbabwe’s Premier League club Dynamos Football Club.
Mushure left DeMbare five years ago to play in Zambia’s Super League. The defender has previously represented Lusaka Dynamos and Kabwe Warriors.
He was part of the defunct Lusaka Dynamos side that won the Absa Cup for the first time. The Zimbabwean also helped Kabwe Warriors qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup and advance to the 2024 Absa Cup Final.
The 39-year-old’s contract with the Warriors expired at the conclusion of the 2023-24 Super League season.
With continental football on the horizon, Dynamos, who were drawn against ZESCO United in the 2024-25 CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round, are said to be close to reaching an agreement with Mushure.
The player is reported to have impressed the Dynamos technical bench, and he has been training with them since last week in the hopes of landing a contract.
“Ocean (Mushure) has been training with us, and the coaches are happy with him. Talks for a deal are now in place, and I can assure you that everything will end well and he will join us soon,” the source told Soccer24.
In 2018, Mushure left Dynamos due to issues over outstanding signing-on fees and winning bonuses. However, the club is currently having the same issue of payments with its players, who boycotted training in the build-up to the Battle of Zimbabwe derby against Highlanders.
