With ten matches left, relegation fighters Zanaco Football Club head coach, Numba Mumamba, has declared his team ready for Sunday’s crucial tie against fellow relegation battlers, Lumwana Radiants.
During a pre-match interview, Mumamba, whose return to Kabwe Warriors last weekend ended in a 1-0 defeat for Zanaco, expressed confidence in his team to defeat their visitors, Radiants.
“Our preparations have been going well since we returned from Kabwe. The team is looking set and ready for tomorrow’s encounter against Lumwana Radiants,” he stated.
He emphasized the importance of capitalizing on home advantage to secure a win and build momentum to escape the relegation zone.
“Lumwana is a team that is playing excellent football, but we are at home. We have to make sure that we maximize our home ground to get the desired results that will push us out of relegation,” he added.
Zanaco, seven-times Zambian champions, are second from the bottom with 23 points from 24 matches.
Looking ahead, the former Zesco United coach, has set a target to use the next five games to move out of the relegation zone, aiming to bridge the current five-point gap.
“Our plan is to make sure that in the next five games, we completely move out of relegation so that we can start talking about finishing in a better position this season,” he explained.
The Bankers’ upcoming fixtures include matches against Lumwana Radiants, Mutondo Stars, league leaders Zesco United, a Lusaka derby against NAPSA Stars, and Nkwazi.
