Mines United centre-back Fanwell Visuwa is on the verge of joining town rivals Prison Leopards on a permanent deal, Bolanews has learnt.
The move follows a standout 2024/25 season in which the defender featured in 32 of 34 matches. He was recognized by the club as the most consistent and dedicated player of the campaign, having played a pivotal role in Mines United’s promotion to the Super League.
According to Bolanews sources, Prison Leopards are leading the race for the 26-year-old, who is currently a free agent.
“Fanwell Visuwa is the only player for now who could be leaving Mines United, as he has attracted interest from Prison Leopards. There are some other teams that are chasing after his signature, but Prison Leopards could be the favourites,” said the source.
“Negotiations are ongoing and soon the deal will be finalized. Visuwa could be joining Prisons as a free agent,” added the source.
Visuwa is a product of Mines United’s development system. He has grown into one of the club’s most prominent players over the years.
