The 13-time champions of the Zambian Super League, Nkana, have now lost five games after falling to Mufulira Wanderers 2-1 on Saturday at Shinde Stadium.
Nkana were seeking their first victory of the season, and Wanderers were seeking retribution for their 2-1 setback to Mutondo the previous week.
Tressor Ilunga’s clinical finish inside the penalty area in the seventh minute gave the home team an early lead and signaled their intentions.
Royd Katuta was brought down within 18 yards in the 28th minute, resulting in a penalty for Nkana that captain Harrison Chisala converted.
Wanderers took the lead back thanks to Owen Mwamba, who capitalized on a goalkeeping error to head in the home team’s second goal to make it 2-1 going into halftime.
