Red Arrows head coach Chisi Mbewe has admitted that his team has been inconsistent but promises to improve in the league’s second round.

The Airmen will take on the in-form Mutondo stars in week 17 of the Zambian Super League at the Nkoloma Stadium this Friday.

They will fight for a win to secure qualification for the 2024 ABSA Cup.

Arrows were defeated 2-1 by the Green Eagles last weekend, but Mbewe, believes they will finish in the top four before the league takes a break.

“The first round has not been good for us, ” he told reporters during a pre-match press conference. “Going into this game, we just need to make sure we finish in the top four. And then regroup in the second round and be consistent to attain our set goals.

“The race to the ABSA Cup is so tight; we are meeting a tough side. It won’t be easy, but we just have to fight and book a ticket for the tournament.

Mbewe also disclosed that the team has been boosted with the return of the two strikers from nursing injuries.

“So far so good; the team looks ready for Mutondo stars. The team is boosted with the return of Ricky Banda and Chitiya Mususu… The team captain has been ruled out due to a fever.”
