While other clubs have not been so patient with their coaches this season, Green Buffaloes are reportedly willing to give coach Masautso Tembo more time despite the poor run of results.
Several coaches have lost jobs owing to poor run of results as their clubs sought to stabilize things before they got messy.
Veteran George Lwandamina was fired from Zesco at the beginning of the season, including Wedson Nyirenda of Zanaco.
Others are Robert Tembo of Nchanga Rangers, Charles Kafula of Mufulira Wanderers, and Ian Bakala of Nkana.
If results are anything to go by, it may appear that Tembo’s job is on the line at Arakan Barrack.
Buffaloes are without a win this year. Their last victory was in a 2-1 win over Napsa Stars on November 23, 2024. Buffaloes are winless in nine matches.
Last week, they recorded their heaviest defeat of the season, losing 4 – 1 to struggling Zanaco.
Buffaloes are four points above the relegation zone ahead of their away match against Atletico Lusaka. However, club sources have indicated to Bolanews that Tembo’s job is not in danger.
Tembo joined Buffaloes from FC MUZA in 2022, taking over from Justin Chinama. In his first season, he guided them to a fourth-place finish with 55 points, 10 behind champions Power Dynamos.
