Green Buffalo FC head coach Masauso Tembo has stated that, despite his team’s poor performance this season, he will push his players to avoid relegation.
On Sunday, Buffaloes drew 0-0 with FC Muza in their week-32 match at Nakambala Stadium.
The Green Buffaloes are in 13th place with 38 points from 32 games played thus far.
The Nyanta Boys are just three points above the relegation zone, and they will have to defeat them in their last two games against Forest Rangers and Trident.
Speaking to journalists after Sunday’s match, Tembo revealed that he was satisfied a point away from home.
“Coming from a draw game against Nkana was a disappointing result…… But coming here to Mazabuka, I mentioned that it’s a very difficult place to come to…… But I think a point from Mazabuka is not bad,” said Tembo.
He continued: “This season hasn’t been really good for us. I think we have done very badly in away games, so I think from the beginning of the season we really wanted to challenge for this league and do well, but it’s disappointing looking at the position we are in…… But I will still push my young boys to fight. We are fighting relegation; numbers don’t lie.”
